1. Start the booking process

Once you are booked in, you'll receive a headshot style guide.

2. Creative Consultation

At your creative consultation, we'll talk through how you want to be photographed, the look you’re going for, and what you could wear to achieve your goals.

We plan for 1-2 outfits for a professional headshot session.

3. Relax & Enjoy Your Session

I’ll guide you through different poses and expressions every step of the way. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and create images that feel natural, confident, and professional.

We'll review images during the session to make sure we are capturing the looks you love.

4. Your Images, Ready in a Week

After editing and retouching, your headshots will be delivered in a private online gallery, ready to download and use.

Your investment starts at $300. Additional services like professional hair and makeup can be added for an additional fee. A 50% retainer is required at booking to secure your date. The retainer is non-refundable, but can be transferred if you reschedule with 48 hours’ notice.

Frequently Asked Questions About Photo Sessions

How do I schedule a photo Shoot?

A phone consultation to get to know you and what type of photography you’re looking for will start us off on the right track. After we talk, I will send you a quote (including a preferred shoot date) based on our discussion. Once you approve the quote and pay the retainer online or by check, I will reserve your session date & time.

What if I need to reschedule my Photo Shoot?

No problem. Your session can be rescheduled, with no fee, if you notify me at least 48 hours before your session. Please phone me to let me know you need to make a change.

What is the turn around time for Photos?

Headshots will be delivered via digital download within a week of your session. Portraits will be delivered within two weeks of your session.

What if I don't like my photos?

I want your to love your headshots and portraits! In the studio, you will be able to view and select your preferred image(s) during the session. That way, if we need to make adjustments and photograph another set, we can. During the session, we will also discuss the level of retouching you prefer. These steps keep your photography goals top of mind and final images inline with what you expect.

After your final images are delivered, please let me know if you are dissatisfied for any reason.

Can I bring a friend to my photo session?

Yes, you may bring a friend. In fact if they need to have a voice in choosing your preferred image(s), it’s a really good idea they be present.

Will sales tax be added to my total bill?

If you order printed products or gift prints, a 9.25% sales tax will be added to your total.

How can I use the high resolution image files?

The quote and contract for your photo session includes language describing how you may use your digital files, this is called a usage license.

Generally, all headshots and portraits are delivered with personal usage rights, meaning you can use them for any type of personal use – on your personal website, printed in your portfolio, on your social media, for your benefit and exposure, forever.

If you foresee needing to use the images in something outside of personal use – we can discuss and see if it really is outside of personal use. If it is, we can determine what usage license will accommodate your situation.

Social Media Content and Advertising images are delivered with a commercial usage license.

I need advice on what to wear for my headshot.

No worries, here is my What to Wear guide for headshots and portraits.

Another option I highly recommend is hiring a wardrobe stylist. I’ve worked with several and can make a recommendation to fit your style. Their guidance is top notch and their creativity and attention to detail can really take a portrait to the next level.

Do you retouch your photos?

Yes, almost all photographs look better with a finishing touch. For headshots, I remove any small imperfections and make sure that the color looks amazing. On portraits I may color grade the image if it adds depth to the story we are telling.

We can discuss further retouching such as age reduction, weight reduction and others treatments if you desire it.

What if I don't like my photos?

After your final images are delivered, please let me know if you are dissatisfied for any reason.

will you display my portrait or headshot on your website or anywhere else?

I would love to share our work with other potential clients, but I will ask your permission first. If you’d rather I not share, post or use your images on social media or in my advertising, I absolutely will not.

How long do you keep copies of all the photos taken during our session?

After final digital images are delivered to clients, all unused images are deleted.

Final digital images are archived and kept on backup drives. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to recover images forever. I will remind you at image delivery to copy your images to your own local back up as well.
